Bathroom cleaning checklist
Split into a 2-minute daily wipe, a 30-minute weekly clean and the monthly jobs that stop build-up. Most bathrooms take less time than you think.
The bathroom is where a small, regular effort pays off most: soap scum and limescale are easy to wipe when fresh and slow to remove once they set.
A standard weekly bathroom clean takes about 30 minutes for one bathroom if you let the products sit while you do other jobs.
BATH Daily (2–3 min) 3′
BATH Weekly (about 30 min) 30′

Tips that save real minutes
Dwell time is free time
Spray the toilet and shower first. By the time you’ve done the mirror and sink, the cleaner has loosened the grime and scrubbing takes half as long.
Top to bottom, clean to dirty
Mirror and sink before the toilet, and use a separate cloth colour for the toilet. Many cleaners use red for toilets so the cloth never ends up on the sink.
Ventilate
Run the fan or open a window while you clean and for 15–20 minutes after showers. Mould needs moisture; taking it away beats scrubbing it off.
Questions people ask
How long should it take to clean a bathroom?
About 30 minutes for a standard weekly clean of one full bathroom, 10–15 for a half bath, and 45–60 for a first-time deep clean of a neglected one.
How often should you clean the bathroom?
Toilet, sink and shower weekly; towels every three to four uses; a quick daily wipe of the sink and shower glass keeps build-up from forming.
What order should I clean a bathroom in?
Clear surfaces, spray cleaners to soak, dust high spots, clean the mirror, sink, then shower or tub, then the toilet, and finish with the floor.
