Our Privacy-First Approach

CleanRoutine is built with your privacy as a core principle. We believe your cleaning schedule and home information should stay private.

Data Storage

All your data stays in your browser. When you create a cleaning schedule, customize tasks, or track your progress, all of this information is stored locally using IndexedDB in your web browser. We never send this data to our servers.

  • Schedule configurations
  • Task completion history
  • Custom cleaning preferences
  • Home layout information

This means: If you clear your browser data, your schedules will be deleted. If you use a different device or browser, you won't see your schedules there.

Shareable URLs

When you use the "Share Schedule" feature, we generate a unique URL that encodes your schedule structure. This allows you to share your cleaning schedule with roommates or family members.

What we store: Only the schedule structure (rooms, tasks, time allocations).

What we DON'T store: Your name, email, address, or any personal information.

Shared schedules expire after 90 days and are automatically deleted.

If you need an easy way to divvy up tasks once the link is shared, our partner ChoreDash offers collaborative chore boards that complement CleanRoutine without collecting extra data.

Analytics

We use anonymous analytics (Ahrefs Web Analytics) to understand how people use CleanRoutine. This helps us improve the site. We collect:

  • Pages visited
  • Time spent on site
  • Browser and device type
  • Country (not precise location)

We do NOT track individual users across sessions or collect personally identifiable information.

Cookies

We use minimal cookies only for:

  • Remembering your preferences (dark mode, etc.)
  • Anonymous analytics

No advertising cookies. No tracking cookies.

Your Rights

Since we don't collect personal data, there's nothing for us to delete or export. You're in full control:

  • Your browser stores your data - you can clear it anytime
  • You can export your schedules as PDFs
  • You can stop using the site at any time

If we make changes to this privacy policy, we'll update this page with the new date below.
